Mansek Music Service
This is a developing music service and has so far managed to establish peripatetic
style teaching in one school in Takoradi, Chapel Hill.
The plan is to establish a similar operation in at least four other schools in Takoradi,
possibly by inviting them to visit Chapel Hill and see the work.

As with all such ventures, it is the funding issue which slows the process down.
Finding available cash makes it hard for the parents to sustain the lessons for their
children.
We are hoping to help develop a careful plan with a sound financial basis and proper
taster sessions for the students.
The suggestion is to talk with Head Teachers, and offer these taster sessions, combined
with concerts by the Mansek teachers so that students see what is possible, and thereby
hope to create a demand.
VolunteerSkills needed to help with this:
Good Knowledge of how a UK Music Service runs. You will either have been taught
your instrument and attended bands etc in a strong Music Service, or you will have
taught/ worked for one.
Business skills: understanding about the need for marketing, sales pitch, targeting
a market, sustainability
Some ability to plan financially: what the service costs to run, teacher
salary, transport, instrument repair etc & therefore
what to charge the school
